Stay Young My Friend

This post is inspired by a Canadian friend I have yet to meet, Uncle Lee (he blogs here)
However I owe this post to another e-mail group friend, Mohd Jamin Lebai Din ;).

We all need to read this one over and over until it becomes part of who we are!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Try everything twice.
On one woman's tombstone she said she wanted this epitaph:
"Tried everything twice. Loved it both times!"

2. Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down.
(Keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches!)

3. Keep learning:
Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever...
Never let the brain get idle.'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.'
And the devil's name is Alzheimer's!

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud.
Laugh until you gasp for breath.
And if you have a friend who makes you laugh,
spend lots and lots of time with HIM/HER.

6. The tears happen:
Endure, grieve, and move on.
The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves.
LIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love:
Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever..
Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health:
If it is good, preserve it.
If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips..
Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county,
to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
I love you, my special friend.

11. Forgive now those who made you cry. You might not get a second chance..

And if you don't send this to at least 4 people - who cares?
But do share this with someone.

Remember! Lost time can never be found.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Have a great day!
MY BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!

You are truly great at trying new things. I am too set at my old ways and old habits to start a new formula to stay young. It is now a question of staying old and keeping at it as long as possible!

Hi Wan Sharif.....The most wasted of all days is that in which we have not laughed.
Only yesterday when out with friends I joked that I want to have the last laugh, even if I can't....

That the day I have to take that journey of no return...I want a cheap digital watch on my wrist and alarm to ring when friends come to say goodbye, ha ha ha.

As well a Playboy magazine, a box of glow in the dark condoms, cigarettes, a deck of playing cards, my wearing my Rayban sunglasses and jeans, no neckties...
and to play Funky town and other hot music....last song, 'when the saints go marching in'.
And to have a party later after I have gone.
My wish to leave some laughs behind. Ha ha.
Lee.

ps, I certainly look forward to meet you one day, Wan. Me as a tourist, ha ha.
And you take me to eat the best nasi dagang in Trengganu!

Dearest Bang Hassan,
nothing great about it.. just picking up the good things that can be practiced.. if you are already comfortable with whatever you have or with yourselves.. then by all mean stick to your way..
Ps.. I do not see anything amiss, not with you and yours anyway ;)

Brother Lee dearest,
Wow it looked like a wasiat.. hopefully it was not!. You always have something funny to say..
I will remember that.. best nasi dagang in Trengganu..
Although I think you deserve better nasi dagang.. but then you have to tell me at least 2 week in advance.. we have to find freshest tuna..to go with the nasi Dagang..
You are right I would have to 'pujuk' my other half and called our mutual friends to temankan you enjoy the nasi dagang.. that would be nice eh..

If you sum up all the things you mentioned above, you can say that the secret to staying young is being happy! When you have a positive outlook in life, everything else will fall into place. =)
