If I could speak

I have just completed the third exploration well in a three well sequence. The results as they say - are mixed but yours truly will have 2 to 4 wells to be drilled for the rest of this year, hopefully with better success insyaallah. On the agenda there are two areas to be developed and later to go on production. Have to resort to the similar trick for this entry, again thanks to Zubia Kiran. This entry I would like to dedicate to all mothers, aunties and especially to one of my blogger friend whom I have yet to meet, Cikgu R.A.S.

If I could speak, here's what I would say
Happy in your arms, I want to stay.
I am your gift, and you are mine too!
Let love bond together, both me and you.

Lets enjoy this time, right here, right now.
Don't let a schedule furrow your brow.
Right now is the time, for me to hold,
When you're less busy, I'll be too old.

Snuggle me tenderly, close to your chest
It is here next to you, I am, at my best.
Your rhythmic breathing and beating heart,
Contentment, and comfort, to me impart.

To see you, smell you, assured by your voice,
All, wonderfully simple, yet help me rejoice.
A cuddle, a kiss, some playful fun and frolic,
Can banish a mood, and prevent nasty colic.

Hold me, hug me, please show me your day
You'll be sharing your love, in a marvelous way.
My learning is best when perched at your side
With arms as my classroom and you as my guide.

Please hold me up high, so I might see
All the many wonders, surrounding me.
With time spent close, as you socialize,
My mind expands and clearly I vocalize!

When you work, walk or take a short trip
With me safely balanced, upon your hip
My muscle tone and self esteem are greater,
I'll be walking much sooner, rather than later.

When we are in 'touch', it reduces our stress
We are happiest then, and worry much less.
Safe in your arms, dispels all my fears.
My beaming smiles, replace anxious tears.

To dream of our future is significant too,
And I know a career is important to you.
When I am older, then we'll join in the race
We'll be more able, to keep up the pace.

Right now, what I know, as certain and right
Is that you are my sun, the source of my light.
I don't need many things, expensive or new.
What I need is your love, your time and you.

Have a good day.

Assalamualaikum Ayoh Wang,

You can resort to this kind of tricks many times, I don't mind.

Again, thank you for sharing this lovely poem..a reminder to stay close to our family, esp. the little ones..we might not be able to join the race or keep to their pace when they are older..:-)

A good reminder to stay close and be kind to all in our family especially the little one..
On the day when we celebrate birthday of my son, my 9 years old niece asked "will uncle A come?"
Uncle A has not been close to many but during the last balik kampong trip he has been especially nice to all little one.. hence his name popped out to our nice surprise.. The most noticable, however, the name of Uncle B .. never mentioned among the little one.. as you can guess, Uncle B cannot gel with the little one and has not been making effort to do that :((

A beautiful poem, and a timely reminder to all mums and dads. Our babies grow up too, too quickly. In the blink of an eye they go from a few days old, to twenty-one!

Wow.. The time ran so fast for you, Pat...
Got a feeling that you must have missed those days when your children were really dependent on their mum;)).
Anyway.. As long as they are still with you can still do something to show your love or at least improve relationship.. They will normally reciprocate.. Godwilling..

Dear Ayoh Wang,

As you know I am neck deep in book projects at the moment. But I loved reading this poem - the mother in me cannot help but smile.

I have not written tender poems like this for a long long long time. Cheqna might remember my old poetry like this, then again maybe she does not.

I would love to go away and write simple stuff, from the heart.

Ayoh Wang, thank you once again for this heart-warming poem. It truly justifies my being here and away from the satisfaction of earning my own income. Nothing is worth more than money but the smiles on the faces of those who truly love you..I have three and every day, they just take my breath away.
:)

Rosfida dearest,
Argh do you have to always remind me that I missed the goodness of bonding with the rest of my family all those months I spent away from my children...;) I am thoroughly jealous of you.. Having wonderful time with your loved one..
Take my word, you will not exchange the experience you are having now with any thing.. And I am very certain you will not regret your actions now.. And your loved ones will be all the more thankful for your sacrifices.. Time will tell.. Savour it mon cheri..

After three wells you sat over a poem. If you so miss them find a job nearer home where you do not have to spend days and nights hoping your drilling bits would strike black gold. Otherwise move your platform over through muka kuala sungai Terengganu up to that lovely Pulau Duyong. There is gold over there and peace of mind, and watch the child grow over his mother's shoulder.

Salam Abang Hassan,
Somehow I got the feeling that you think the teacher in me might wake up and answer the calling.. When I took up the job to chase the elusive black gold.. I was more or less certain that I, in my round about way, will confuse students more than impart the necessary or pertinent knowledge..
My better half think I am better off working if my service is still needed..
To watch my children grow maybe a little late .. that I can do better here in KL where my children is /will be having their education..
Met your second son who are also in Klcc ..Tuesday evening..
I believe (and pray that) Allah has already predestined someone to carry on your work insyaAllah..

Sherry dearest,
Thank you again for your valued observation. It is when they are young they need our love, care and attention.. once they have the good impression of us that good impression will be remembered for the rest of our/their lives
