The only Quran some people will ever read

I would like to share with fellow readers an email that was sent by a good friend in INCEIF.

The Islamic Society of Greater Houston Mosque - from google

Several years ago, an Imam from out-of-state accepted a call to a Masjid in Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change.

As he considered what to do, numerous thoughts crossed his mind..
'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.'
'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter'.
'Who would worry about this little amount?'
'The bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it'.
'Accept it as a "gift from ALLAH" and keep quiet.'

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, "Here, you gave me too much change".

The driver, with a smile, replied, "Aren't you the new Imam in town?"

"Yes" he replied.

"Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at the masjid".

When the Imam stepped off the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said “Oh ALLAH, I almost sold you for a quarter!”.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

Our lives are the only Quran some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Muslims, and will put us to the test!

Always be on guard -- and remember --
You carry your IMAN on your shoulders when you call yourself 'Muslim'.

"Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your characters, for it become your destiny'
(many thanks to mamaboyz)

Have a nice day..

surah AL-ZALZALA...

(7)فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ
So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant) shall see it.

(8)وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ
And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant) shall see it.

Salam Wan, writing this from the kebun where the internet is intermittent and unstable (too ulu, I guess!)

This piece is profound, an excellent guide to all Muslims.

Your new template is refreshing.

Dear Dannalli,
Good to see you again knowing you have already read the content ...
I heard it somewhere that a Jew lady who revert to Islam and said "I am lucky that I know Islam before I know Muslims, should I know Muslims before I know Islam, I might not be a Muslim now"..
That was a very disturbing statement. non?!

Yohteh,
You are on the dot, there.
The message there (maybe) we will be scrutinize for everything unless He bless us with His all-embracing Rahmah..

We may not go too far wrong if we be ourselves, simple and unpretentious, looking at people around as we look at ourselves.

Wa'alaikumussalam Grandpa,
Intermittent and unstable internet, I suppose that's part of life..
Muslims' akhlak now is no longer comparable to those used to attract others to Islam as per my comment to Dannalli above..
Glad that you like my new template.
Have a good weekend.

Dear Abang Hassan (Al Manar),
Thank you for sharing your precious life's observation..
I believe that by observing Makhluks {Allah's Ayaah (signs)} we can come closer to knowing Him.. and human being is one of His Makhluks..

Thank you for this sharing and reminder Wan Sharif. We must care for our thoughts because I had noticed many times that when I put in wrong thoughts, in the end I would regret my actions that I realised was rooted from my thoughts.

I like the font too. It is big, clear, easy on my weary eyes;)

Ayoh Wang! I love the title, very true..

there's another line to that, watch your character, they become destiny.

Dear Mamaboyz,
I googled on your precious comment and sure enough the following appeared on my screen:-
“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
Thank you for your kind correction will update my post and will get back on Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyya.. He seemed to have so many invaluable quotes and saying.
